Ducks and a surprise!

It's a noisy time here on the farm and it's wonderful! Today out of a stall in the barn came a hen and 18 little chicks. We had no idea she was even there - and she had to have started over 3 weeks ago. Amazing… She's taking them all around the yard (especially under the bird feeders) and they're drinking out of puddles and having a wonderful time entertaining the cats - whom I'm keeping a close watch on.

The ducks were moved to their pond a few weeks back, but I'm just getting around to posting a photo. They're very happy and seem to think they own the farm. They visit the pigs, goats, house and barn pretty much every day  - they're constantly roaming. They are the critically endangered Welsh Harlequin.
